Police in Germany managed to arrest a bank robber after he left his ID card at the scene of the crime.

The 21-year-old threatened a cashier with a gun and demanded money at the bank in Berlin's Friedrichshain district.

On his way out, a customer tried to stop the man and he lost part of the loot as well as his wallet.

Police then used the ID card to track down the homeless man.

When they finally managed to arrest him he had already used up most of the money to settle his drug debts.
